Biren Ghose is the Country Head in India for Technicolor. The company is a US $4.5billion global arts and sciences leader involved in technology and production services for the media & entertainment industry. He is an acknowledged industry leader in India in government policy formulation and advocating education. His vision is to make visual communications & the arts an agent of change in the economic and community development in India.
Biren has been responsible for building up the India studio. This is now a primary hub for Technicolor’s leadership in Animation, Visual Effects, and Games. The emerging spaces in the portfolio are driven through emerging technologies in immersive media such as AR/VR, etc. The India studios now have over 4500 artists and technicians.
In Animation, the studio has won 7 Emmy Awards in the past 8 years. Productions include DreamWorks Animation’s Alvin and the Chipmunk and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; Disney’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers; Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness; Penguins of Madagascar; and many others.
In Visual Effects (VFX) MPC Film, Bangalore and Mr. X VFX, have worked on several Oscar-nominated features including The Jungle Book, Life of Pi, The Shape of Water and Blade Runner 2049. This year Disney’s The Lion King; Dumbo and Warner Brothers’ Shazam and Godzilla 2 will release.
MPC Advertising and The Mill are 2 VFX brands within the Technicolor portfolio that specialize in advertising and other forms of pioneering visual narrative. Bangalore participates in the content creation for over 700+ commercials annually for the world’s biggest brands through the international studios.
The studio has managed strategic alliances with DreamWorks Animation, USA which produced animated feature films and Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto 5) in a unique business model of a dedicated unit at Technicolor.
Biren is a reputed marketing and business strategist having worked across a wide vista of industries in India and the Middle East.
He completed an Advanced Management Short Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan School), USA and is a Commerce Graduate from the University of Calcutta.
His passions include collecting art and music (predominantly jazz). His hobbies include playing the guitar, tennis, F1 motorsport and photography.
