Xiaomi 18 Pro Price in India: 8500mAh, Dual 200MP

Xiaomi skipped a number and went big instead. The company jumped straight from the 15 series to the 18, and the new Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, launched in China last week, are the reason for the leap. Two 200MP cameras. A working display on the back. Chips built on a 2nm process. And a battery so large I read the number twice: 8,500mAh in the Pro Max. No India date yet, but Xiaomi has confirmed an international launch is on the way, which makes guessing the Xiaomi 18 Pro price in India the most interesting game in tech right now.

What the Xiaomi 18 Pro price in India could be

In China, the 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999 (roughly Rs 86,000) for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the 18 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs 1 lakh). The fully loaded 16GB/1TB versions cost CNY 8,999 and CNY 9,999, and there is even a transparent red special edition at CNY 10,999.

History says India pricing lands a bit above direct conversion once duties kick in. A realistic guess puts the Pro Max between Rs 1.05 lakh and Rs 1.15 lakh here, which parks it squarely in Samsung Galaxy S26 territory. Awkward timing for Samsung, given its latest flagship just got a 17% price hike in India.

An 8,500mAh battery. Read that again.

This is the number that matters. The standard 18 Pro carries a 7,000mAh cell, already generous. The Pro Max goes full absurd with 8,500mAh and 100W wired charging, and Xiaomi claims the battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after 2,000 charge cycles. That is a four-year promise most brands will not put in writing.

A small real-world aside: two-day battery life is finally, actually real on this thing, unless you spend six hours gaming. Meanwhile Apple and Samsung keep insisting their “all-day battery” is fine, and Xiaomi just shipped a phone that laughs at power banks. This is not innovation. It is simply deciding that uptime matters more than shaving off another millimetre. Oppo is playing the same game, by the way. The F35 series launches in India on October 5 with an 8,000mAh battery of its own.

Two 200MP cameras and one very familiar Leica badge

Both phones get a 200MP Leica main camera and a 200MP Leica periscope telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom that focuses as close as 12cm, joined by a 50MP ultrawide. On paper, this is the most aggressive camera hardware Xiaomi has ever shipped. On paper.

Nobody outside China has tested these sensors yet, and Leica co-branding has a mixed record of meaning more than the red logo on the box. That said, a 200MP telephoto at 3.2x is genuinely interesting for portraits and close-ups. Cautiously excited, heavily sceptical of the marketing.

That rear mini screen is genuinely useful

Remember when a second screen on the back was a gimmick? The 18 Pro keeps a 2.7-inch AMOLED rear panel, 2.9 inches on the Max, both running at 120Hz. Notifications and widgets, yes, but the real trick is framing selfies on the back screen while shooting with the main cameras. Your front camera just became redundant. Vloggers and creators will get this immediately.

There is also a smart privacy layer on the main display that narrows viewing angles for selected apps, with the selfie camera apparently detecting onlookers to trigger it. Cute idea. I want to see it survive a crowded Delhi metro coach before I believe a word of it.

2nm chips, and a transparent red you cannot have yet

The 18 Pro runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The Max steps up to the Extreme variant. Both are built on a 2nm process, run at up to 5.0GHz, and pair with up to 16GB of LPDDR6 RAM. Translation: absurdly fast, and efficient enough that the giant battery might stretch even further. Both phones ship with HyperOS 4 on Android 17.

And then there is the transparent red special edition. 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, CNY 10,999. It exists mainly to make enthusiasts sad it is not on sale everywhere yet. Xiaomi has confirmed the series is headed to international markets, so India is a question of when, not if. When it arrives, it walks straight into the iQOO 16, currently being tested in India at around the Rs 1 lakh mark.

So. Two 200MP cameras, a screen on the back, 2nm silicon, and a battery that outlasts your weekend. The only things missing are a launch date and the confirmed Xiaomi 18 Pro price in India. If the Pro Max lands near Rs 1.1 lakh here, the flagship conversation this festive season gets very loud, very fast.
