Mahindra is a well-known car manufacturer recognized for its highly successful SUV Mahindra Scorpio, which has enjoyed significant market success. The company consistently updates the vehicle, incorporating new elements and features.

In 2023, Mahindra introduced two variants of the previous generation Scorpio: the Scorpio Classic in the C-segment and the Scorpio New End Big D in the D-segment.

The company is now gearing up to launch a medium-level variant, positioned as the base model between the S and S11 top variants, known as the S5. As of now, the official website only offers bookings for the S and S11 variants, suggesting that there will be some waiting time for this new model.

According to a walkthrough video released by a car show channel, the S5 variant will bring a new level of Scorpio to the lineup, finding its place between the S11 and S variants. While the pricing details have not been disclosed yet, it is expected to fall within the range of the current showroom prices for the S1 at 12.99 lakhs and the top variant S11 at around 16.81 lakhs.

The S5 variant is likely to offer several notable features that surpass the base variant, such as body-colored bumpers, roof rails, door cladding with Scorpio branding, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

However, some advanced features present in the S11, including a steering wheel, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, automatic climate control, Foxwood highlight, chrome surround, and front and rear armrests, will not be available in the S5 variant.

The Mahindra Scorpio S5 variant will feature the same 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine as the S and S11 variants. The engine in the Scorpio Classic has been retuned to generate 300 Nm of torque and 130 bhp of power. Notably, there is no automatic transmission or AWD setup available for this model.

The price of the S5 variant is expected to be in close proximity to the S trim, likely ranging from 13.50 lakhs to 13.80 lakhs rupees.
