Vivo V80 Price in India: Launch on Oct 6 With Zeiss Cams

Vivo is about to test how much Indians will pay for a great camera phone. The Vivo V80 launches on October 6 at 12 PM IST, and the leaked pricing is the story before anything else: Rs 63,000 for 8GB + 128GB, Rs 70,000 for 8GB + 256GB, and Rs 80,000 for 8GB + 512GB, according to tipster Abhishek Yadav. Another tipster, Ahsan Kharbai, spotted a box MRP of Rs 1,19,999 and expects the street price to land above Rs 60,000.

Either way, that is a huge jump from the V70, which launched at Rs 45,999. Fifteen thousand rupees is a big ask for one generation. Vivo had better be confident, because at this price the V80 is stepping into territory where buyers start asking uncomfortable questions.

The cameras are genuinely the point

Let’s give credit where it is due. The Zeiss partnership on the V80 is not just branding this time. A 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP night telephoto with 3x optical zoom stretching to 100x digital, and a 50MP Zeiss group selfie camera up front. Three 50MP shooters, all Zeiss-tuned, with 4K cinematic video and 4K 60fps recording. For portrait and wedding-season photography, this is the most interesting mid-range camera setup of the year.

And yes, the front camera being marketed as a “group selfie” camera is funny when Oppo is launching the F35 series the day before as the “Group Selfie Expert.” Someone at both companies had the same brainstorming session.

That 7,200mAh battery changes the math

Here’s what actually excites me. The V80 carries a 7,200mAh battery with 90W FlashCharge. Vivo claims 14 hours of navigation and 39.5 hours of local video playback. Take the marketing numbers with salt, obviously, but a cell this big in a slim phone with a camera system this serious is rare. You usually get one or the other.

It puts the V80 in the same conversation as Oppo’s K14 Plus, which launched with an 8,000mAh battery at under Rs 45,000. Different price bands, same insight: Indian buyers have made battery capacity a primary buying criterion, and brands are finally treating it like one.

The Rs 63,000 question

Now the part that bothers me. At a leaked starting price of Rs 63,000, the V80 is expected to run a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. A good chip. Not a great one. It is upper-mid-range silicon at a price where last year you were getting genuine flagships on discount. The 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and 5,000 nits peak brightness is lovely, and OriginOS 7 on Android 17 is current, but none of it justifies the price on its own.

Small aside: this is the same pricing squeeze we just saw with the Nothing Phone 4a, which quietly climbed to Rs 39,999 after the RAM cuts. The component crisis is real, and everyone is passing the bill down. But Vivo is asking for the biggest leap of faith in the segment right now.

Should you wait for October 6?

The Vivo V80 price in India will decide everything. If it launches near the leaked Rs 63,000, it is a camera-and-battery specialist priced like an all-rounder, and you should compare it hard against discounted flagships before committing. The iQOO 16, for instance, just launched with genuine flagship silicon and an 8,400mAh battery in roughly the same money band.

But if Vivo undercuts the leak and opens near Rs 55,000 with festive bank offers, the conversation flips. A Zeiss triple-50MP camera, 7,200mAh battery, and IP68/IP69 durability in Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, or Stellar Black becomes the most complete lifestyle phone of Diwali season. Watch the launch. The price, not the spec sheet, is the real product here.
